As of December 31, 2016, the minimum wage in New York as increased to at least $9.70 per hour statewide. Due to New York’s size and differences cost of living, there are fours tiers of minimum wage. Below are all the tiers and the minimum wage effective December 31, 2016:
- NYC – Large Employers (11 or more) – $11.00 per hour
- NYC – Small Employers (10 or less) – $10.50 per hour
- Long Island/Westchester – $10.00 per hour
- Remainder of NY State – $9.70 per hour.
